Michigan's licensed adult-use cannabis retailers sold $242,263,191.56 worth of products in September 2026, according to the Michigan Cannabis Regulatory Agency's monthly report covering Sept. 1 to 30. That compares with $250,913,798.68 in September 2025, according to the agency's report for that month, a decline of about 3.4%.

The average retail price of an ounce of adult-use flower was $59.99 in September, down from $63.16 a year earlier, the two reports show.

Flower was the largest adult-use category, with about $98.7 million in sales, followed by vape cartridges at about $46.6 million and inhalable compound concentrates at about $41.9 million, according to the September 2026 report. Cumulative adult-use sales reached about $15.65 billion as of Sept. 30.

Sales under the state's medical marijuana facility licensing program totaled $264,549.07 in September, compared with $403,124.06 in September 2025, the reports show.

MITechNews, which reported the September figures on Oct. 16, noted that Michigan's 24% wholesale marijuana tax took effect Jan. 1, 2026, and remains the subject of litigation. The outlet wrote that the agency's sales figures do not establish how much, if any, of September's revenue decline resulted from the new tax. It reported that adult-use sales fell 6.4% from August to September 2026, compared with an 11.3% decline over the same period in 2025.

The agency posts its monthly reports on its statistical report page.
