Justin Lane, the operator of High Hopes ICT, pleaded guilty to federal charges related to marijuana trafficking and firearm possession. Prosecutors stated that Lane distributed products containing THC or marijuana across six store locations in Wichita, Kansas, utilizing shipping services to move the goods.

In November 2025, a multi-agency operation involving the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office, the ATF, and the Wichita Police Department raided the six store locations, as well as Lane's residence and the home of a former manager. Lane admitted that he sold products he knew contained THC or marijuana exceeding federally permitted levels.

As part of his plea agreement, Lane has agreed to forfeit all firearms to the federal government and cease claims that his operations were legal hemp businesses. Sentencing is pending, and he faces potential prison time followed by supervised release.
