Between May 26 and June 11, 2026, the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration (ABCA) and the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) conducted enforcement operations against three unlicensed cannabis retailers in Washington, D.C. The businesses, identified as Green Magic, Smoke Island, and Top Mart, were issued closure orders due to alleged public health and safety risks.

The operation resulted in the seizure of 16.1 pounds of marijuana and 21.7 pounds of mushrooms from the Green Magic location. Authorities confirmed that six individuals were arrested during the course of these enforcement actions.

These closures were conducted under the authority of the Medical Cannabis Conditional License and Unlicensed Establishment Closure Clarification Emergency Amendment Act of 2024. The city has reported the closure of 113 such businesses since the legislation took effect in July 2024.
