On October 14, 2026, a joint operation involving the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Colorado Springs Police Department, and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants on seven retail locations. The targeted businesses included five "Speedys Smoke Shops" and two "Los Compadres Liquor" stores. Authorities allege that these businesses were involved in the unlicensed sale of THC products, including vapes and edibles, as well as the suspected illegal sale of psilocybin. Law enforcement reported the recovery of over one ton of THC products, 469 pounds of 7-OH products, and four pounds of psilocybin products. The operation remains under investigation, and authorities have stated that the weighted totals include the entire product weight, not pure substances.
