Colorado's Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED) has issued three health and safety notices since Sept. 25 covering THC vape products made by Staycon LLC, which does business as Craft, Westword reported Oct. 15.

The first advisory, on Sept. 25, listed 87 batches of Craft vape cartridges and disposable vapes sold at 405 stores after they tested positive for methylene chloride, a solvent, according to Westword. On Oct. 8, the Colorado Department of Revenue, in coordination with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), expanded the advisory after identifying a synthetic, unapproved flavoring ingredient in Craft vaporizer devices. The expanded advisory says the affected products were sold at 504 stores between Nov. 5, 2025, and Oct. 7, 2026, and that the agencies had received adverse health event reports from consumers since the first notice.

On Oct. 13, the state issued another advisory after finding pesticides above Colorado's acceptable limits in Craft vaporizer devices. Westword reported that additional testing detected chlorfenapyr, a pesticide banned in cannabis cultivation, and that the batch was sold at about 226 dispensaries from Sept. 26, 2025, to July 11, 2026. Combined, the notices list more than 700 medical and recreational dispensaries, according to Westword.

As of Oct. 9, CDPHE had received 38 reports of adverse effects related to products in the recall, mostly headaches and respiratory discomfort, CDPHE spokeswoman Gabi Johnston told Westword. Craft said in statements that the issues were tied to vape flavoring ingredients, Westword reported, and the company did not respond to Westword's request for comment.

The state advises people who have affected products to stop using them, destroy them or return them to the store where they were bought, and report any adverse health effects to the MED. The MED and CDPHE investigations are ongoing, according to Westword.
